We have invested in a company that provides encrypted two-way communication through Zoom. The company is called Secure Telehealth. They provide a business associate agreement (BAA) that guarantees the privacy of your sessions. They are available 24/7 for questions and/or technical support. You call the number and get to speak to a live person.
We currently accept both CHAMPVA & Cigna insurance.
Confidentiality is of the upmost importance in my practice, but the wellness and safety of individuals will sometimes supersede. I am what you call a "Mandated Reporter" which means there are certain serious times where I am required to break confidentiality. The nice thing is that the exceptions are very clear: If you are unable to keep yourself safe in a crisis, I may have to call the proper authorities, such as law enforcement or a crisis team if that service is available in your area to get you to crisis care. Your life is important to me. The second exception is abuse or neglect to elderly 65 and older and children. This contact will consist of a call to the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF). The third exception is that you threaten serious harm or death to another individual. I do have the duty to warn and/or contact the authorities.
The initial assessment is $240. This is a 2-hour assessment where we will gather important information from you to identify your needs to make a treatment plan.
For follow up sessions, there are two options:
A 50-minute session is $100, and a 65-minute session is $150. Since this is your treatment, the amount of time that you would like to have each session is up to you and your therapist to decide what is best for you.
We also offer an optional 30-minute Mental Wellness Planning session for $30. This is a great opportunity for you to meet and ask your counselor questions and essentially interview them to make sure that they are a good fit before you commit to engaging in counseling. We understand that counseling asks a person to be vulnerable and share personal information and we appreciate that one must feel comfortable doing this. This session is a confidential tele-visit so that you can speak to us “face to face” rather than over the phone.
