I was just watching a YouTube video and one of the questions posed was, “What is your definition of greatness?” before the individual being asked (Brene Brown) could answer, I immediately said to myself, “Leaving nothing on the table”. What? I said back to myself, what does that mean? So, as I pondered, I wanted to write it down because I feel like this is something that I wanted to remember for the future. Leaving nothing left on the table- give it all that you got, showing up and trying your best, and being proud of yourself with the little bit of energy that you can muster up. Everyone has greatness within themselves and it looks different for everyone, so it is up to each person to define that for themselves. Just like everyone’s purpose is different- so is what their greatness looks and feels like. People around you can encourage and call out the greatness they see in you, but truly only you can provide your personal definition of greatness. What is your definition of greatness? Brene Brown’s was something along the lines of owning your story…. absolutely 100% agree with that as well. So, I suppose “Greatness” is a super broad word; but, isn’t that’s what it’s all about? Everyone’s definition is going to be different but somehow has similar themes. Set your eyes on the prize, hustle your ass off, bring all that you are, show up, never give up no matter how tough it gets, and at the end of the day- leave absolutely nothing on the table.
